Tips for Cleaning Tiles to Make Them Shine at Home

Tiles can add beauty and elegance to any room, but over time they often lose their shine due to dirt, stains, and soap residue. Whether in the kitchen, bathroom, or living room, shiny tiles make your home look cleaner and more welcoming. Luckily, you don’t need expensive products to bring back their sparkle — with a few simple tips and household items, your tiles can look brand new again.

1. Regular Sweeping and Mopping

Dust, dirt, and grit can dull the shine of tiles if left unchecked. Sweeping or vacuuming regularly prevents scratches and buildup. After sweeping, mop the floor with warm water to remove any remaining particles.

2. Vinegar and Water Solution

Vinegar is a natural cleaner that works wonders on tiles. Mix equal parts of white vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle. Spray it onto the tiles and wipe with a microfiber cloth. Vinegar not only removes grime but also restores shine. (Note: Avoid vinegar on natural stone tiles such as marble or granite, as it may cause damage.)

3. Baking Soda Scrub

For stubborn stains or greasy tiles, make a paste of baking soda and water. Apply it to the stained areas and scrub gently with a soft brush or sponge. Baking soda is mildly abrasive and helps lift dirt without scratching the surface.

4. Lemon Juice for Extra Shine

Lemon juice is an excellent natural brightener. Apply fresh lemon juice directly to tiles, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe clean with warm water. The acidity of lemons removes stains and leaves behind a fresh scent.

5. Steam Cleaning
