Instructions

 

1. Prepare the Crumbs

  • Add crushed  pastry or  cookies to a non-stick pan.

  • Toast over medium heat, stirring constantly for 8–10 minutes, until golden brown.

  • Remove from heat and let cool.

2. Make the Custard Cream

  • In a non-stick saucepan, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar.

  • Add the  milk and whisk until smooth.

  • Whisk in the flour until fully incorporated and no lumps remain.

  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens (about 6–10 minutes).

  • Remove from heat and let cool.

3. Assemble the Dessert

  • In serving glasses, add 2 tablespoons of crumbs.

  • Top with 2 tablespoons of custard cream.

  • Repeat layers until the glass is full.

  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

  • Garnish as desired (e.g., fresh berries, chocolate shavings, or powdered sugar).

Tips & Variations

  • Use store-bought puff pastry crumbs for a more authentic Napoleon flavor.

  • Add vanilla extract or lemon zest to the custard for extra aroma.

  • Sprinkle cocoa powder between layers for a chocolate twist.

  • Serve in small jars for a fun and portable treat.
