Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
-
Prepare the potatoes:
Wash the potatoes well and dry them.
Using a sharp knife, slice thin cuts along each potato — but don’t cut all the way through (leave the bottom intact). -
Season:
Mix olive oil (or butter) with garlic powder, paprika, herbs, salt, and pepper.
Brush the mixture all over the potatoes, making sure some gets into the slices. -
Bake:
Place the potatoes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake for about 40–50 minutes, until the slices start to open and turn golden brown. -
Add ham and cheese:
Remove the potatoes from the oven and carefully insert slices of ham and cheese between the potato cuts. -
Final bake:
Return to the oven for another 10–15 minutes, until the cheese melts and everything looks crispy and delicious.
😋 Serve hot!
Perfect as a main dish or a side with grilled meat or salad.
