5. External
router You invest a lot and you don’t necessarily get good results. I bought a high-end one, but I didn’t achieve a significant improvement. In addition, he still did not make it to the fourth. I don’t recommend spending on expensive routers if the problem is distance or walls.
6. Wi-Fi
repeater or extender These devices pick up the modem signal and amplify it. By placing it between the modem and the area with a bad signal, I finally managed to get the Wi-Fi into the room. I reached more than 100 megabytes and the ping improved. The only downside is that it generates a separate network, forcing you to manually switch networks based on location.
7. PLC (Powerline) devices:
These use the mains to transmit the internet through the sockets. It was very easy to install and the connection was pretty decent, although unstable in some sockets. It depends a lot on the electrical circuit of the house, so it can be unpredictable.
The Ultimate Solution: Mesh Wi-Fi
Finally, I found the best alternative: a Wi-Fi Mesh network. I bought a kit with three devices that work together to intelligently distribute the signal throughout the house. They work as a single network, without the need to switch connections, and are easily configured. The result was the best ever: good speed, low latency, and constant stability. I even wired one into my computer, which further improved performance.
