Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
🥩 For the Chicken Fried Steak:
Ingredients:
4 cube steaks (tenderized beef steaks)
1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
Oil for frying
Instructions:
Prepare the dredge: Mix flour with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
In another bowl, whisk eggs and buttermilk.
Dip each steak in flour, then egg mixture, then flour again. Press flour on firmly.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry steaks 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
🥔 For Mashed Potatoes:
Ingredients:
4–5 large potatoes (peeled & chopped)
4 tbsp butter
1/2 cup milk (add more if needed)
Salt & pepper to taste
