Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Make the Mashed Potatoes:
Boil potatoes until fork-tender (about 15–20 min).

Drain, then mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.

Mix in any optional ingredients (like sour cream).

2. Prepare the Steak:
Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

In another bowl, beat eggs with milk.

Dip steaks in flour, then egg mixture, then back in flour.

Fry in a skillet with hot oil over medium-high heat for about 3–4 minutes per side, until crispy and golden. Set aside on a paper towel.

3. Make the Gravy:
In the same pan, leave a bit of oil (2 tbsp) and add the flour.

Stir constantly until it turns light brown.

Slowly whisk in milk until smooth and thickened (3–5 minutes).

Season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic/onion powder.

4. Serve:
Plate the steak and mashed potatoes, then generously pour gravy over both. 😍
