1 large onion (thinly sliced)
2 tablespoons butter (for caramelizing onions)
4 slices Swiss cheese (or American cheese)
4 slices cheddar cheese
8 slices rye bread (or sourdough)
2 tablespoons butter (for grilling sandwiches)
For the Secret Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon sweet relish (or finely chopped pickles)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika

In a small bowl, mix all the sauce ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate while preparing the rest.
2. Caramelize the Onions:
In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium-low heat.
Add sliced onions and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Set aside.
3. Cook the Patties:
In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
Divide into 4 oval-shaped patties (slightly larger than your bread).
Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.

Spread secret sauce on one side of each bread slice.
