Description
This Timballo, inspired by Nonna’s lasagna recipe, is a delightful dish filled with love and rich Italian tradition. Perfect for your Easter lunch or any special gathering, it promises to be a hit with your guests.

Ingredients
1 lb pasta (e.g., ziti, rigatoni)
2 cups marinara sauce
1 lb ground beef or sausage
1 cup ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 eggs
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook Pasta: Boil pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, brown ground beef or sausage. Add marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
Mix Cheeses: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, 1/2 cup Parmesan, eggs, basil, salt, and pepper.
Layer Timballo: Preheat oven to 375°F. In a greased baking dish, layer half the pasta, half the meat sauce, and half the cheese mixture. Repeat layers.
Top with Cheese: Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
